NCAA & NAIA Information

Want to play college sports?

NCAA Initial-Eligibility rules require a student to complete a Certification Account.  To play sports at a Division I or II school, college bound student athletes will need to meet the following academic requirements to practice, receive athletic scholarships, and compete during their first year.

  • Graduate from high school

  • complete 16 NCAA-approved core courses

  • Earn a minimum GPA and earn an ACT score that matches your core-course GPA

  • Needs to be a NATIONAL ACT test.  You have to send to have scores sent from ACT-the code is 9999.  They will not accept them on a transcript.

Core Course Requirements:

NCAA Division I:

4 years of English

3 years of math (Algebra I or higher)

2 years of natural/physical science

1 additional year of English, math, or natural physical science

2 years of social science

4 years of additional courses (from any area above, foreign language, or comparitive religion/philosophy)-not computers

  • 10 of the 16 core courses should be completed before senior year of high school.  7 of the 10 core courses must be in English, math, or science.  Core course GPA must be 2.30 or greater.


NCAA Division II Requirements:

3 years of English

2 years of math (Algebra I or higher)

2 years of natural/physical science

2 years of social science

3 additional years of English, math, or natural/physical science

4 years of additional courses from any area above, foreign language, or comparitive religion/philosophy

Prospective students can begin the registration process through the Eligibility Center website at:  www.ncaaeligibilitycenter.org

Registration fee for Division I or Division II is $90.

NAIA Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must graduate from an accredited high school

  • Must be accepted as a regular student in good standing

  • Must meet of two of these three requirements

  1. ​Minimum of an 18 on ACT test-either a national or the junior state test.  You need to send them scores from ACT-code is 9876.

  2. Minimum of a 2.0 on high school GPA

  3. Rank in top 50% of high school graduating class
