At Comanche Public Schools, we accept the challenge to provide a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment where the students of today develop the skills and knowledge to make a positive difference in their community and world. Unfortunately, one of the biggest challenges we face is food insecurity for some of our students. Many of us cannot comprehend such, but food insecurity is a devastating reality for far too many students. This issue creates an additional obstacle that must be overcome in order for a child to be successful in their educational journey.
Fortunately, Comanche High School has found a way to combat the problem. Working with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma to fight this challenge in our community, NHS is creating a food pantry at Comanche High School to help provide for students whose families may need some extra help. This will be in addition to the one at Fame.
In order to facilitate this solution, we need to be able to properly store the food provided to us by the food bank.
This is where you can help! NHS is currently in need of a refrigerator/freezer. If you or someone you know might be willing to make a donation, we would be able to provide more food options to our students in need.
We know that our community will always come through for our students, and this will be no exception. That’s what makes Comanche such a special place!
